“Zombie Chickens Arise From Compost”?
Did that catch your attention? Well it certainly caught mine as I perused the headlines yesterday.
Judging by the fact that I’ve seen the headline popping up in various places since then, I’d say it caught other people’s attention as well.
So what’s the story, Morning Glory?
Well associated with that zany headline at ShortNews.com is a brief blurb about the original story (”Recycling Chickens“).
I decided to go straight to the source to see if I could learn more.
It’s not the most pleasant story, I’ll admit, but it is certainly BIZARRE!
Anyway, I won’t say any more than that in an effort to keep things postive and upbeat on the blog! If you have a taste for the bizarre/macabre then go check it out.
If not, then enjoy the funny headline and the goofy picture and move on with your day.
All that aside, it’s actually pretty cool to hear that farmers are in fact trying out composting as an option for dealing with mortalities. Of course, if not done properly you can rapidly have a very unpleasant situation on your hands, but with the right quantity of carbon rich material (like sawdust) you should be good to go! I wouldn’t recommend you trying it at home though - unless you are a black-belt composter!
