Lime Local - Green Goods & Services Close To Home
We had an interesting submission to the directory yesterday - a cool webpage called Lime Local. As Steve mentioned in another post, we typically like to check out all our submissions just to make sure they are suited to be included, and this particular website certainly intrigued me.
Lime Local is part of a larger site called Lime (”Healthy Living With a Twist”), which looks to be a very comprehensive (and interesting) green living resource, with major topic areas including “Food”, “Health”, “Balance”, “Fitness”, “Planet”, “Business”, and “People”.
The ‘Local’ component (still in Beta stage) is particularly cool because this is where you can potentially track down green businesses in your area (and submit any of your favourites if they are not listed). Say for example you are looking for a natural food store in San Francisco, you would simply enter your zip code or city name into the search box and it will call up a listing of all the ‘green’ businesses in the area (including a map).
At this time the resource seems to be rather limited (only certain cities, only US), but I think it has a lot of potential to evolve into a very useful tool. It actually DOES already appear to be quite comprehensive for certain U.S. cities.
Anyway, definitely give Lime Local a look-see and be sure to submit any favourite green businesses that you know of in your area.
