One Change A Day To Help Create a Greener Way

One thing that definitely puts a smile on my face is the discovery of someone new linking over to our site!
Well, today I found a link over from a site called “Green as a Thistle“. As per usual, I decided to check them out to see what they are all about (and perhaps try to get a feel for why they decided to link to us).

The ‘Green as a Thistle’ blog is very new – I think it was started at the beginning on the March in fact – but it definitely looks really cool. The idea behind it is that the author, Vanessa, has pledged to make one green change to her life every day for an entire year – to add a little ‘compound interest’ into the mix, she has also promised that each and every change will be permanent (ie. she won’t just be testing out a variety of green options over the course of the year).

It sounds like an admirable challenge, and one I would imagine will only become more and more difficult as the year progresses. It will be interesting to see if she follows Franke James’ advice by ‘doing the hardest things first’. Whatever the case may be, it will be really interesting to follow her progress!

Some of her changes thus far have included turning down her thermostat, buying some jewelry made of recycled materials, and switching to a more earth-friendly brand of conditioner.

Cool Green RSS-Feed Site

We just received an email from someone today asking if it was ok to add our RSS feed to their site. Just to make sure it wasn’t something spammy I checked it out and was really impressed with what they’ve got going on!

If you are looking for a great all-in-one list of the daily green news and blog headlines, be sure to check out: PanNatural

I get the feeling they are continuing to add new feeds/links all the time so it should get even better!
This is a great option for me personally, since I find it very easy to fall out of ‘the loop’ as far as what’s going on in the green blogosphere. The site should definitely help me stay in touch with all the new and exciting green headlines!

UPDATE: I just wanted to let everyone know that Richard from PanNatural emailed and has assured me that he is working very hard to rectify the feed issue on the site (in some cases, rather than pulling blurbs, PanNatural has been pulling entire posts from other people’s blogs).

In his words:

I know that this is a huge problem, have rewritten the code and now can set character limitations for each feed manually. Soon, you won’t see entire posts on the site (I have to go through all feeds, check and set them one-by-one).
